GENERAL SCOPE
Alloy 7075 in the tempered condition T6 is a
high strength Aluminum alloy often used in applications high
stress applications where good corrosion resistance is also
required. One of the 7xxx series which has Zinc as the
principal alloying element but other elements Copper,
Magnesium, Chromium and Zirconium may be present. Alloy 7075
in the temper condition T7(3) is normally preferred if
transverse strength properties are required. The alloy is
approved to NACE MR0175.
Most common Temper designations
O Annealed condition
T6 Solution Heat treated and Artificially aged.
T7(3) Solution heat treated and over aged or stabilized.
