As we enter the recovery phase from Harvey, our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our employees, their families, the greater community of Houston and beyond who have been impacted by this devastating event.
We recognize that many of you, our loyal customers, suppliers and your employees may have suffered similar, if not more devastating impacts from the storm. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as we recover and rebuild.
From a Howco perspective, we sustained some water damage to our plant and offices and we began our cleanup on Wednesday, August 30th.Thursday, August 31st, we opened for business with the intent of being as close to normal operations as we could be, shipping materials to those who could receive it.
However, beyond Howco’s readiness, there are wider implications to a fully functioning supply chain. In particular, the availability of local suppliers, the port of Houston, transport logistics and the lingering effects of the regional flooding may affect our ability to deliver product as promised. Our aim is to minimize any disruption to our service as much as possible, but our ability to supply may be impacted by factors beyond our, or anyone’s control arising from the unprecedented set of circumstances of the past week.
It will take days, or possibly weeks, to evaluate what effects the storm and its aftermath will have on our ability to meet our obligations. We are doing everything we reasonably can to mitigate any impact this might have on you, our customers and suppliers.
As you can appreciate, this is a dynamic and developing situation and we will provide regular communications on the overall status. In the meantime, should you have specific queries, please contact your nominated Account Manager, Customer Service Representative or Commodity Manager/Buyer who will assist you with the questions you may have.
