GENERAL SCOPE
Alloy 945 is a superior age-hardenable alloy designed to provide a combination of high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. It also protects against chloride stress-corrosion cracking as well as outstanding general corrosion resistance to reducing chemicals and aids resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and oxidizing environments.
As Alloy 945 is resistant to sulphide stress-corrosion cracking and stress cracking in H₂S environments, it is suitable for down hole and surface gas well components. These applications include tubular products, valves, hangers, landing nipples, tool joints and packers. A945 can also be used for fasteners, pump shafting and high strength piping systems.
945 is manufactured to the requirements of API 6ACRA and is approved in NACE MR0175 when solution annealed and age hardened to a maximum hardness of 42HRC.
