UNS S30400 : ASTM A182 (VO1.01), A276 (VO1.03), A479 (VO1.03), BS EN 10088
General scope
304L is an austenitic stainless steel from the 300 series 18/8 family. 304L is similar in composition to 316L. Nickel and Chromium are slightly modified and there is no Molybdenum addition.
Normally supplied Solution Annealed/Treated although it can be supplied cold worked with higher strength properties. The "L" grade has a reduced carbon level to improve corrosion resistance after welding, and generally is more commonly available.
NACE MR0175 - 2003 "general use" approval now limits the maximum environmental temperature to 140°F (60°C).
