New Horizontal and Vertical CNC Turning Centres Now in Operation at Bredbury

As part of our ongoing commitment to precision manufacturing, we’re delighted to confirm the addition of two new state-of-the-art Horizontal and Vertical CNC Turning Centres at our Bredbury site. This significant investment is one of several we have made to ensure we continue to offer the world class precision and quality that Howco is known for.

The first of the duo of new additions arrived in Bredbury in February of this year. The Geminis GT5i G4 1200 x 6000 heavy duty horizontal lathe is a highly specialist piece of CNC machinery used in the production of large and heavy components, and machining of complex geometric profiles.

Our Bredbury team are already reporting an increase in capacity and efficiency following the horizontal lathe’s installation.

We have also invested in a YOU-JI VTL1800ATC+C-I vertical borer for our Bredbury site, which was supplied by TDT Machine Tools of Coventry.

Like the GT5i G4 1200 x 6000, this vertical borer allows for a high degree of precision and versatility – its 16 tool magazine facilitates turning and milling, allowing for greater efficiency in the setup process.

We’re confident in the difference this machine will make to our operations, as we have already invested in two other machines of this type for our site in Irvine, Scotland.

Andy Clarke, Howco UK Operations Manager explains, “Our new CNC horizontal and vertical lathes represent a large investment in Bredbury and underlines our commitment to continually raising the bar when it comes to delivering the high-quality precision components we’re known for.

“This investment will not only provide Howco with new cutting-edge technology but will also provide our global customer base with increased capacity and machining envelopes which will be a major advantage when machining large, heavy components.”
