GENERAL SCOPE
Alloy 945X is a high strength grade of 945 superior age-hardenable alloy designed to provide a combination of high strength and excellent corrosion resistance.
It also protects against chloride stress-corrosion cracking as well as having outstanding general corrosion resistance to reducing chemicals and aids resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and oxidizing environments.
As Alloy 945X is resistant to sulphide stress-corrosion cracking and stress cracking in H₂S environments, it is suitable for down hole and surface gas well components.
These applications include tubular products, valves, hangers, landing nipples, tool joints and packers. The alloy can also be used for fasteners, pump shafting and high strength piping systems.
UNS N09946 is approved under NACE MR0175 when solution annealed and age hardened with a maximum hardness of 46HRC.
