GRADE 420 MODIFIED
Stainless, Duplex, Super Duplex
13 CR – STAINLESS
GENERAL SCOPE
This 13 Cr martensitic stainless steel is used in the hardened and tempered condition. It is used extensively on completion equipment in both bar and tubular form, for structural and pressure containing members, in standard and CO₂ environments. pH, chlorides, temperature and H₂S can limit its use in other environments. The grade is approved by NACE MR0175 supplied to 22 HRC for packers and other sub-surface equipment.
Grade 420 generally has better hot working characteristics than 410, and is less susceptible to cracking at heat treatment.
