New 4 Metre Deep Hole Boring Machine Installed at Howco Singapore

We’re very pleased to announce the arrival of a state-of-the-art 4 metre Deep Hole Boring Machine at our Singapore facility, marking yet another significant step forward in Howco’s ongoing commitment to excellence through investment in world class technology.

This latest addition to our machining suite enhances our capacity, improves productivity, and facilitates even greater flexibility, enabling us to better serve our customers across the oil, gas, and energy sectors.

The new 4m Deep Hole Borer is a highly specialised machine designed to drill deep, precise bores through nickel alloy bars and other high-performance materials. With a powerful 30kW (50/60hp) spindle motor and a maximum bore length of 4000mm (157”), it offers the performance required to produce high-integrity components for use in extreme environments.

This cutting-edge machine complements the four existing deep hole boring and honing machines already in operation at the Singapore site, creating a robust and versatile machining capability particularly suited to supporting our downhole completion product customers. These industries demand components manufactured to the highest standards, delivered on time and ready to perform in challenging conditions, and this new investment is designed to meet that demand.

Tim Birch, Regional Director Asia Pacific, commented: “We’re proud to continue strengthening our operations in Singapore with the addition of this advanced machine. This investment ensures we can offer our customers even greater capacity, faster turnaround times, and enhanced flexibility, all without compromising on the exceptional quality that companies have come to expect from Howco.”

The decision to expand our deep hole boring capability at Singapore reflects Howco’s strategy to build resilience and responsiveness across our global network. With operations in 10 locations across 6 countries and 4 continents, we work closely with customers who rely on us to limit service disruptions, reduce downtime, and control costs, while simultaneously supplying products of unparalleled integrity.

Our Singapore team has already reported improved workflow and scheduling flexibility since the installation of the machine, with the ability to handle a wider range of customer specifications and volumes in an efficient and effective manner.

At Howco, we understand the critical role our components play in customer operations. That’s why we’re continually investing in equipment, technology, and talent to ensure we remain the supplier of choice for high-performance alloys and precision components.
