The Howco Group is proud to be a sustainably-minded business. In the Spring, we took a giant stride towards achieving our carbon neutral goals with a £750,000 investment in a cutting edge Solar Photovoltaic Energy System which has now be installed at our locations in Sheffield (South Yorkshire) and Cumbernauld (North Lanarkshire).
The investment, which has been made as part of our wider Net Zero strategy, will enable us to generate 18.3 million kWh of cleaner energy over the next 25 years. It will also help us to offset rising energy costs. As a result, our projections indicate that the cost of installation will be recouped within as little as three years.
Commenting on this initiative, Andrew Marwood, Director of Group Operations said, “Reaching net zero is an important objective for Howco Group. Given the sheer volume of roof space we have at our Sheffield and Cumbernauld facilities, investing in a Solar Photovoltaic Energy System was the natural choice. This is a substantial financial investment in sustainability and one that we are confident will benefit the Howco Group and its clients in the years to come. In addition to driving down our carbon footprint and reducing our reliance on traditional energy sources, the use of renewable energy means that we’ll also be able to offset some of the recent energy price increases. We’re pleased to be able to pass on those savings to our clients in the form of competitive pricing.”
